.mobi Domain Registrations

From 26 September to 10 October 2006 you can purchase your preferred .mobi domain names from ICUK. This is a period which will see lots of key domain names purchased, before a general release on October 11th when lower pricing is introduced across all registrars.

NOTE: .mobi domains have to be registered with a minimum registration period of 2 years. The costs shown are per year.

Mobile browsing is quickly gaining momentum. Internet leaders like Google and Microsoft already have mobile sites, and more are launching every day. Take advantage of this rapid growth by using .mobi, the only TLD dedicated to providing Internet content and services to mobile devices.

.mobi is a domain extension which is specifically designed for mobile devices. There are strict rules which you need to comply with in order to use this extension. Even if you're not ready to create websites specifically for mobile devices, by registering your preferred .mobi domain, you can make sure your business always has the option to go "mobile" and no-one else can benefit from the strength of your brand.

If you host a website on a .mobi domain name, it must follow the .mobi registry's requirements:

• XHTML-MP: Pages served from the domain must be encoded using XHTML Mobile Profile.
• Second-level domain site: The site must respond to example.mobi as well as www.example.mobi (ICUK take of this for you by default).
• No frames: There must be no frames anywhere on the site.

Important: If your .mobi website does not meet these requirements, the registry may take it offline.
